Designing EuroLegalBot: from user experience to AI interaction

Abstract

Before EuroLegalBot could become an operational digital assistant, the project needed to define how practitioners would actually interact with it.

D3.1 – Chatbot Design Plan provides this blueprint. It sets out the strategic and technical approach for creating an intuitive interface for justice professionals, covering the user journey, interface and navigation, conversational interaction and the integration of AI functionalities. The design work includes wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes, together with dialogue structures, prompts and response patterns. Multilingual support, accessibility and natural language processing are also integrated into the design approach.

The deliverable goes beyond the appearance of a conventional chatbot. It explores an immersive environment combining intelligent avatars, virtual spaces, training resources and interaction with legal information, laying the foundations for the wider European Virtual Judicial Academy concept.

D3.1 therefore marks the transition from the EuroLegalBot concept to a concrete user-centred digital environment designed around the needs of justice practitioners.
