Katerina Charokopou

Katerina Charokopou is a PhD Legal Officer in the Greek National Commission for Human Rights, specialized in public international law and human rights. Before joining the GNCHR she has served as Rapporteur in the Ministry for Migration Policy. She has over 20 years’ experience in representing Greece in and collaborating with international, regional Organisations (Council of Europe, UN, OSCE, OECD, ILO etc) and the EU via drafting of annual reports, completing surveys and country questionnaires and participating in Legal Working Groups, Working Parties and seminars. She is since June 2022, co-chair in the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) Economic, Social and Cultural Working Group. Her main professional interest is the protection of the human rights of vulnerable groups including women, children, migrants, disabled persons, Roma, LGBTIQ+ people with focus on the fight against racism, hate crime hate speech.
