Abstract
The DERAD project is a European initiative designed to prevent radicalization in prisons and support detainees and probationers vulnerable to jihadist recruitment. It created an inter-agency group specialized in working with radicalized individuals and developed original training materials for 55 European trainers, who then delivered cascade trainings in 26 countries. Key results include 55 trainers trained, over 2,000 users on the HERMES e-learning platform, and 52 national training courses. The main outcome is the HERMES platform, along with a training video, Farouk – Disbelievers, illustrating a real case of radicalization.
