The Online Network of Italian Anarchists

Abstract

This year marked a significant return of the Federazione Anarchica Informale (Informal Anarchist Federation – FAI) to the Italian scene and beyond. Active for more than twenty years, the FAI is the main umbrella organisation of the anarchist galaxy active in Italy, and is composed of a cluster of terrorist and subversive anarchist-insurrectionist cells that share the ideology and line of the federation, but act in a totally autonomous manner.

Fabio Frettoli works as Project Designer and Researcher at Agenfor International Foundation. He is a member of the board. Previously he worked as project coordinator in Tunisia with Terre des Hommes Italy and has interned as a policy analyst at the European Parliament (Directorate-General for External Policies, Policy Department – MENA Region), and as research assistant at the Middle East Directions Programme, part of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies in Florence.
He holds a Master in Intelligence and Emerging Technologies Frome Udine University, a Master in Human Rights and Conflict Management from Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (Pisa, Italy), a Master in International Security Studies from Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) and a Bachelor in International and Diplomatic Sciences from the University of Trieste (Italy).
